Jake One - White Van Music

Jacob Dutton, better known as Jake One, is an American hip-hop record producer from Seattle, Washington. He grew up in Capitol Hill and moved to Seattle when he was 15. Dutton started making music on a keyboard in 1992. He attended the University of Washington where he had his first shot at a career when he gave a mix tape to one of his boys who worked at a local record store. Word started to spread and he got more and more opportunities to prove himself, only reminding those in the hip-hop nation of the quality of his sound. Jake One's early influences include the likes of Pete Rock, DJ Premier, and Marley Marl. He was part of the G-Unit production squad and as of late 2008 is working for Dr. Dre's squad.

Check out Jacob Dutton's debut album "White Van Music" and soak in the sick beats he makes for Brother Ali (the albino), Little Brother, De La Soul, slug (Atmosphere), Busta Rhymes, etc...
